Cash Donations

Monthly Donations
Join the NJSPCA Defenders program. The NJSPCA Defenders are a group of dedicated friends whose small monthly gifts allow us to focus more of our resources on our lifesaving animal welfare programs and less on raising the necessary funds. You can become a defender with a minimum gift of $10 per month. Click here to become an NJSPCA Defender today.
Matching Gifts
Many companies encourage philanthropic interest among their employees by offering a matching gift program. Search here to see if your company offers a matching gift program, or contact your company's Human Resources department to determine if your employer matches gifts to the NJSPCA. This is an easy and effective way to double or even triple your contribution to the NJSPCA
Workplace Gifts
If you are a federal employee, please keep in mind that you can give to the NJSPCA through the Combined Federal Campaign (CFC), which runs from September through December each year. Whether you donate $1, $10 or more per paycheck, or make a one-time donation, your contribution will go a long way in helping us continue to find effective means for the prevention of cruelty to animals. The NJSPCA's CFC number is CH0401700
In addition to the CFC, the NJSPCA participates in a variety of workplace campaigns as a member of Independent Charities of America and Animal Charities of America. Check with your Human Resources office to see if the NJSPCA is a designated charity in your workplace contribution campaign. GRANTS
The NJSPCA Foundation and Corporate Support staff is available to complete letters of inquiry, funding proposals, and grant applications, and to provide financial and other supporting materials required to fulfill your grant distribution requirements. They can also discuss potential opportunities for support among the diverse program areas at the NJSPCA. Gifts of Stock
Donating a highly appreciated asset to the NJSPCA may allow you to avoid a significant portion of your tax liability while still receiving a charitable contribution deduction.
For example, if you donate a long-term appreciated asset such as stock to the NJSPCA, you are generally entitled to an income tax deduction for the current fair market value of that asset, no matter what your original cost. Additionally, all capital gains taxes that were due would be avoided. However, to take a deduction for gifts of securities at their current value, you must have owned them for one year and a day. The asset you donate is usually removed from your taxable estate, which means an additional tax savings for your heirs.
The gift of an appreciated asset is a powerful way to support the NJSPCA. While this giving strategy has many obvious benefits, no doubt the most important is the satisfaction of knowing that your support helps advance the lifesaving work of the NJSPCA. Donor Advised Funds
If you have established a donor advised fund, it may be possible to recommend a charity to receive all or part of the assets remaining in the fund after your lifetime. You can name the NJSPCA as the beneficiary for part or all of these assets.
