NJSPCA Major Crimes Unit and New Jersey State Police
break up a dog fighting ring in Newark, NJ

Newark, NJ. The NJSPCA Major Crimes Unit, working in conjunction with the New Jersey State Police were involved in breaking up a dog fighting ring in Newark, NJ. More than 12 Pitbulls that had signs of having been fought were recovered from the scene on North 11th Street. Tread mills and a fighting ring were also observed and had been used very recently. The Pitbulls were taken by the Associated Humane Society (AHS) of Newark and are being treated by a veterinarian at their facility. Animal fighting charges against all those arrested are pending.
