Mrs. Lori Gagliardi plead guilty to cruelty
On December 11,2007 Investigator Theresa Cooper of the NJSPCA was contacted by Animal Control Officer Lou Marino and was informed that he had just picked up 2 dogs for the second time that were running at large. The first dog was an English Sheep dog, which was severely matted and needed to be groomed. The second was a border collie; both dogs were at the Burlington County Animal Shelter. Both dogs were taken to Barney's Kennel and Grooming. Shaving the dogs was required along with a medicated bath. Barney stated he had never seen a dog so severely matted and it appeared he had not been groomed in years. Once his 15 pounds of matting had been removed, he behaved like a puppy again. After a thorough investigation it was found that the owner was Ms Lori Gagliardi. On December 29, 2007 she was issued 4 summonses for cruelty. On March 13, 2008, in Cinnaminson Municipal Court Ms. Gagliardi plead guilty to animal cruelty and was fined $500 plus $248 restitution to the NJSPCA. These dogs are now up for adoption and hopefully they will go to a good home that will keep them together and give them the care and love they deserve but were denied for quite some time
