Mr. Donny Varlgas plead guilty to cruelty
February 29, 2008 and May 14, 2008
On February 29, 2008 In Phillipsburg Township a domestic dispute between Mr. Donny Varlgas and his live-in girlfriend Ms. Nicole McGuire led to her cat being stabbed by Mr. Donny Varlgas. Ms. McGuire called the NJSPCA on the1st of March.
Investigator M Rahill launched the investigation and received a statement from Ms.McGuire. Investigator M Rahill visited the Washington Animal Hospital and spoke to Dr.Grodkewiecz who provided a statement describing what cause the wounds Investigator M Rahill and Investigator Dixon interviewed Mr. Varlgas and issued him multiple summonses for killing Ms. McGuire’s cat. On April 9th Mr. Varlgas failed to appear in court so Judge Batista issued a bench warrant and posted a $5000 bail for Mr. Varlgas Mr. Varlgas was picked up on May 2nd on the warrant and was being held in the Warren County Correctional Facility.
On May 14, 2008 In Phillipsburg Municipal Court Mr. Donny Varlgas pled guilty to needlessly killing a living animal. He was charged $2000 in fines plus $3,749.00 restitution to the Washington Animal Hospital who attempted to save the cat’s life and $390 in restitution to NJSPCA. Mr. Varlgas was also as given a 30day jail sentence.
