Mr. Anthony Bilitti plead guilty to 14 counts of cruelty.
February 25, 2009 and March 23, 2009
On February 25, 2009, Inv. L Donato and Agent in Training Paulaskus responded to the home of Mr. Anthony Bilitti of a report of animal cruelty regarding improper shelter. After a through investigation it was found that Mr. Anthony Bilitti was housing 20 dogs. Almost all the dogs showed signs of poor grooming. Also, most of the dogs had hot spots on their legs at the knee or elbow area. A warning was issued for Vet care and to have a fecal test for worms to be done on all dogs. A total of 28 summonses were issued both criminal and civil.
On March 23, 2009 in Toms River’s Municipal Court and in front of Judge Damian Murray, Mr. Anthony Bilitti plead guilty to 13 counts of Improper Shelter (4:22-26C ) and 1 count of Criminal Failure to Provide Proper Drink (4:22-17a3) A total of $3250.00 in fines plus $100.00 in restitution to the NJSPCA was ordered. In a consent order, Mr. Anthony Bilitti surrendered 10 pit bulls to a rescue group. He was ordered to have no more than 10 dogs in his custody with unannounced visits by NJSPCA.
