Ms. Sheila Keilitz plead guilty to animal cruelty.

April 15, 2009
On March 13, 2009 an incident took place where Ms. Keilitz was confronted by Manchester Township Police Officers and their animal control officer.  During the confrontation, Ms. Keilitz was observed walking barefoot in her home on rugs covered with feces and trash. Her dogs had gotten infections on their feet, requiring veterinary care due to these deplorable conditions.  Ms. Keilitz was taken in for psychiatric evaluation and the dogs were taken to the Northern Ocean County Animal Shelter.  On April 15, 2009,  Ms. Sheila Keilitz of Manchester  NJ plead guilty to two separate counts of animal cruelty including to deprive living creature of necessary sustenance and failure  to provide  a living creature with proper shelter for her two dogs. As part of her plea agreement, Ms. Keilitz will pay $ 500 fines, $ 200 restitution to the NJSPCA in addition to paying for the shelter fees and veterinarian bills totaling $1489.
